Mission Statement of the Siam Mission
(Dec. 2006) Our Purpose: Why do we exist?
To glorify God by facilitating the establishment of a viable and indigenous church among the peoples of Thailand that impacts the world.
Our Vision: What do we want to see? To see a strong, healthy, and indigenous Thai church realized.
Our Core Values: What do we believe and practice?
1. Prayer: Prayer keeps us dependent on Christ and in touch with the Spirit's prompting; allowing us to join the Father in what He is already doing around us.
2. The Fullness of the Holy Spirit: Our ministry demands a Spirit-filled character and His supernatural empowering for all daily responsibilities.
3. Missionary Churches: We will partner to plant missionary minded churches with a passion to multiply and reach out beyond their own cultural and linguistic boundaries.
4. Training Leaders: We will train pastors, lay leaders, and church planters through both formal and non-formal education.
5. Partnerships: We recognize the Gospel Church of Thailand as our primary partner but will also partner with other Christians, churches, and groups in projects that are in keeping with our purpose and vision.
6. Wholistic Ministry: We will respond to specific social, physical and spiritual needs of Thai people to demonstrate our love for God, to enhance and strengthen our witness and church planting efforts, to strengthen local churches with whom we serve, and to train and inspire Thai Christians to be wholistic in their witness and ministry.
7. Faith and Risk: We are prepared to take risks in order to achieve mission goals and will respond in faith to divine opportunities that stretch us beyond our personal resources.
8. Multiplication: We will multiply ourselves in all levels of ministry. We will enable believers to win new believers, disciples to build new disciples, leaders to build new leaders, and churches to plant new churches.
9. Teams: Whenever possible, we will work as teams in creative cooperation, matching gifts and strengths with appropriate ministries.
10. Reproducible Models and Tools: We will develop models and tools that are reproducible and sustainable within the Thai church and cultural context.
11. Entry and Exit Strategies: In each ministry and for the entire Siam Mission we will have an appropriate entry and exit strategy that follows a pattern of model, assist, watch, and leave.
